Game Modes
Keystone Region GTA RP runs as one world with two core modes: a persistent main RP universe and staff-run scenario events. This page explains what each mode is, how canon works, and what carries over.
Mode 1: Persistent Roleplay
MAIN WORLDThis is the primary Keystone Region experience. Your character, choices, and progress live here over time. Economy, jobs, departments, crime, courts, and community storylines operate in a persistent timeline.
- Living economy (jobs, businesses, purchases, ownership)
- Public safety roles (Police / EMS) and enforcement systems
- Criminal RP with tiered escalation and server balance
- Legal outcomes (fines/jail) with rule-based enforcement
- Canon lore set in Pennsylvania (Keystone Region timeline)
- Persists: character progress, money/items (as allowed by rules), job/business progression, vehicle ownership, reputation.
- Does not persist: temporary event-only items, non-canon scenario outcomes, admin test states.
Mode 2: Scenario / Event Mode
STAFF-RUN EVENTSScenario Mode is where staff run structured events: major story arcs, emergencies, civic events, and high-intensity RP that resets cleanly. It’s designed to add excitement without breaking the main economy or timeline.
- Manhunts, prison transports, warrant services
- Multi-crew crime arcs and organized operations
- Civic/political events (elections, protests, investigations)
- Disaster response (blackouts, floods, mass-casualty incidents)
- Community events (car meets, festivals, concerts)
- Non-Canon (default): outcomes do not carry to main RP.
- Soft-Canon: event “happened,” but outcomes are summarized, not enforced 1:1.
- Hard-Canon (rare): staff-approved outcomes can affect the main world.
- Rewards focus on participation (titles, cosmetics, reputation), not farming.
- Event inventories and states reset after the scenario ends.
- Persistent economy remains protected unless stated otherwise in a hard-canon announcement.
